Today in math we discussed the use of a table to help organize data. We learned that using a table is helpful because it makes it easy to locate a single piece of data. We then looked at creating tables or lists using Microsoft Excel. Once we made the lists we learned how Excel will sort in descending (least to greatest) or ascending order (greatest to least) with the click of a button. We also looked at how Excel can perform mathematical functions. Tonight the students will be working on practice workbook page 5 for homework.

In science we continued looking at experimental design. In particular, the students took an experiment and worked in small groups to help improve the design. The students seemed to enjoy working in cooperative learning groups and did a nice job improving the design to help eliminate some extraneous variables.
