We read an online biography of Chris Van Allsburg today, as well as the answers to some of his most frequently asked questions. We were especially interested in what he had to say about his inclusion of Fritz, the dog, in each of his books. The book we read today was The Stranger, and we enjoyed all the mysterious details that Van Allsburg included in the story. Students wrote a character analysis of the main character in their reading response notebooks.
