Today Mr. Geanangel, our Technology Integration Specialist, came to teach us a lesson about personal Internet safety.  He stressed the importance of not sharing any personal information about ourselves on the Internet and that it is best to only communicate with people that we personally know and trust.  Electronic communication is actually one of the writing standards in our state ELA curriculum guide.  Today students received an introduction to our class email system, Gaggle.net.  This is a protected school Internet environment that has been set to only allow students to send and receive emails from students and teachers within our school. It will be used for educational purposes only.  The students were very excited about this opportunity!  After several more lessons about the appropriate use of this email, students will be able to show you this new learning tool.

Thank you to those of you who are regularly checking this blog.  We had 51 hits yesterday!  Parents, I would love to hear some feedback from you through the comments option.  At the top of this page is a tab that gives instructions for posting a comment.

I’m glad that Mr. Geanangel helped our students know how to be safe on the internet. He will also help us with a session for parents that will give them the knowledge to protect their children from inappropriate materials and connections.

I love the blog! This is a great way to share thoughts and gain knowledge about others and how they respond to information.
