Today we did lots of online activities. We reviewed genre definitions and this week’s vocabulary words with Quia activities. I posted our assignments for today on our class activities blog, and students were able to be somewhat self-paced in accomplishing the tasks. We learned today that our blog host site can’t handle 20 people trying to make comments at once, and everyone’s comment didn’t post. We’ll do it differently next time. The comments posted today were “quick writes” and were not revised or edited by the authors.
This experience provided good practice in following directions, which is our class motto and also an ELA state standard. One of my goals as I prepare my students for middle school is to help them develop the independence that will enable them to become self-directed learners. This is one of the strong student benefits that I have observed through the years of our technology-enhanced curriculum. It was a good day!

Hey, this is Jamey. I though I would leave a comment because I remember doing that last year. I miss you Mrs. Foxworth.
