We had our first fire drill this morning.  Most students did a good job of remembering the procedures.  We watched a short BrainPop video about the 4 types of sentences that made us laugh, so we watched it again!  As a group we orally took the quiz that followed the video, and we’re finally learning how to pronounce declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative.  We had some extended self-selected reading time and also took our vocabulary quiz.
Have you seen the paper about our school wide reading program?  Students are expected to read an hour a week at home and document it on a calendar they received. They will then choose one book project to complete by the end of September.  Students who participate during September and October will be able to participate in a celebration party.  I hope we’ll have lots of participants!  Have a great weekend!
