Global Horizons: Fifth Grade- Foxworth & Bosch

It was a busy day!  We had a mini-lesson on the 4 domains of the PACT writing rubric, which are Content, Organization, Voice, and Conventions.  Looking at a rubric that contained illustrations helped us understand and visualize the concepts.  We revisited the book Wilma Unlimited for an example of an effective lead and closing.  Students continued working on their Role Model drafts.  During self-selected reading time they are beginning to use sticky notes to keep track of the thinking they are doing while they read, especially noticing connections, big ideas, and questions.
