We began the morning with a surprise fire drill. It was a little chilly outside! In ELA we continued our unit on figurative language with a minilesson on idioms. After reading and discussing Fred Gwynne’s book The King Who Rained, students explored the use of idioms on the American Idioms webpage. Then students finished writing their digital story descriptions that will be posted on their blogs. They will receive a writing grade for this entry based on a scoring rubric designed for this activity. We hope that after these are posted that students will begin to receive comments about their digital stories!
