Global Horizons: Fifth Grade- Foxworth & Bosch

Interim reports went home today.  Also included in the envelope is important information about middle school next year.  In middle school related arts classes are called exploratory classes, and student have will have 2 exploratory classes each day.  There is a form that you need to complete and return this week to indicate your child’s preferences for exploratory classes for next year.  
Today we continued to work with our prefixes as part of our word study this week.  Students finished with the peer editing of their most recent writing piece, a description of their favorite place.  An important element of this activity was the inclusion of sensory details.  Many students still need to work on adding more details and elaboration to build content.  Content is one of the four domains on the PACT writing rubric.  Students also began searching for resources for the research project.
