It was good to have our classroom community back together today after the long weekend.  Mr. Bosch and I attended some great sessions yesterday at the district instructional fair.  Due to missing yesterday and a day of school last week, we need to catch up on some things.  Tomorrow students will take the morning work quiz on last week’s math and language.  Students will also take the vocabulary quiz on last week’s Word of the Day vocabulary words.  There will also be some review questions on the test from the first set of WOD words.  Foxworth’s students will have a social studies test on our unit on discrimination.  They have 3 study guide pages, and this material comes from Chapter 5, lessons 3 & 4.

Today students used Open Mind to create a word web.  This allows them to explore a word in a deeper way by identifying the definition, part of speech, synonyms, and antonyms.  They also continued researching and taking notes for the research project.  Students are doing a good job of using the comprehension skill we focused on last week, reading a small chunk and writing the main idea in their own words.

Today students brought home a form to be signed indicating what they will
